Hi jcgirl,

I completely understand the issue with doubts and feeling discouraged. I am another Life Coach and also fairly new in the business. One of the things that I have done is to change my thinking and recognize that doubts are lies. Our God is not an author of doubts and confusion, but our enemy is. When I recognized this truth, it gave me the confidence to not give any time to listening to my doubts.

If I listen to my doubts and believe them, I get stuck and stop moving forward in my purpose. But faith is the opposite of doubts, and through faith we can overcome them!

I hope this helps!

Hi everyone,

I, too, just joined and maybe by divine intervention -   JCgirl - I, too, am a life coach.  I understand what you are going through and have spent the last five years building my practice.

Obedience is a faith builder.  Keep your chin up and your eyes focused upward...

Find your niche and stay focused...

Hi everyone-

I just joined the group and am excited to be a part of the conversations.

Last year I felt God telling me to pursue becoming a Life Coach and since then I've started a coaching business with a focus on helping women live wholeheartedly for God. Since then, I don't think I've ever experienced as many doubts and attacks from the enemy since making that choice. For example, before I never questioned making a salary but now I'm suddenly faced with guilt over charging clients. Has anyone had a similar experience when they know they are walking in what God is call them to do?

Any words of wisdom to pray though would be much appreciated!

Hello group - I'm new to the site and found it encouraging to read how others are living out their faith in the workplace, no doubt one of the greatest challenges for a Christian.  I have been blessed by bosses who, even if they don't particularly share my view or are cursed with direct accountability to upper management, still have the respect to not ask me to do things which they know go against my beliefs.  Still, it is often hard to react with Grace to the demands of the business world and its focus on the almight dollar.  Keep the faith brothers and sisters. Much thanks for the encouraging words. How did they react? They politely listened and perhaps even thought about it a bit (after all, I was both their boss as well as the one who led them and watched their backs in emergency situations). And any of them who worked for any length of time under my commend had heard the gospel on any number of occasions. It was not unknown for us to pull out a Bible and have an informal Bible Study. Of the Captains and Lieutenants who were under my command, several of them were professing Christians and some actually make an attempt to live in a manner in accordance with that profession. Obviously, I did not begin my career as an officer, yet I never had any problems being able to share my faith, even when I was an entry-level fire fighter. On the other hand, I always felt it important that my manner of life back up that which I believe and I made a conscious effort to live as a testimony in the presence of my co-workers. RIC

John: You are bold my friend! It is a difficult balance to proffess your faith so openly in the workforce in today's society where just about every worldview is accepted except Christianity! Good job... I pray that God will have opened their hearts (minds) to HIS word. how did they react? Have you spoken to them about Jesus before? My husband works in an office where even though most of his coworkers would claim to be of the Christian faith, they do not walk the walk (or even talk the talk for that matter). He would love to spread the message of salvation such as you. They are aware that he is a Christian and that he is somehow different from them on how he lives his life and his beliefs but it is not permitted to speak so boldly. I pray that one day he will be able to do as you did. Bravo, and congratulations on your retirement! RIC

Today I ended a 29 year career as a professional fire fighter, retiring at the rank of Battalion Chief. It has been a great profession and highly rewarding and fulfilling, but it is also a young man's job and I am no longer a young man. It has been an honor and a privilege to lead some of the best of the best. As we were getting off duty this morning, and just prior to the formal ceremony that would end my career, I called my troops together for some closing words. I reminded them of how many times we had been in the heat of fire and how many times we had saved lives and property. And then I told them of how my own reflections on this career have been colored by the fact that there was once One who sacrificed His own life for me, dying in my place. His name is Jesus Christ. We regularly conduct emergency preplans of how we are going to react to catastrophic situations, and I told them that this life is only temporary and that we are only practicing and preparing for eternity. It is only the fool who does not prepare for the inevitable, so I challenged them to use the same sort of due care in their own personal lives that they typically take on the job. RIC

My experience with that is to pray about the Lord's will (I'm sure you've already done that). If you do not get a clear responce (often the case) you can ask people that you know like family and close friends that have a close walk with God to pray as well. In the meantime just go with what you feel is right. Stay in continual prayer on the situation and remain open to Christ's plan. Ask God to close the door to the wrong choice. At some point it will become obvious. i hope this helps : ) RIC

Hey extinctinator, that's a really good question. I'm suprised that nobody has replied. I don't really know the answer to that. Money is a very frequent topic in the Bible. I'll see if I can find anything. Maybe I can at least find a place to start looking. Anyone else have any input? RIC

here's a question I ponder sometimes: does God want Christians to be rich? i mean he requires us to give up everything and giving up everything isn't very profitable... i dunno RIC

GodsGardner, I new to social networking too. I don't know how to upload images and audio files here, though. Sorry for the delay in checking back. The group doesn't notify me when people post. RIC

Hey, fellow followers of the Lamb! I'm very new to all this social networking, having just "retired" from active missionary pastoring and recently joined the IM/Chat/Blog crowd. I have been "persuaded' (by spine injury) to slow down and pursue missions work on the web. I'm learning every day a little more...reallywant to know how to edit/upload video/audio clips from my camera and CUBASE to meetfish as we have some pretty good original Gospel Bluegrass music to share.
