roxygirl24,
are you loading them directly from your camera? also.. are you shooting in JPEG or RAW? Your files may just be too large for it to process them. Do you have Photoshop or something like photoshop? If you do, try changing each pictures down to 72 dpi (the default for Nikon's is usually upwards to 300 dpi). Computer screens can't show any higher than 72 dpi so the quality of your pictures won't be changed at all.

Yeah, Scuba7120, it is a great camera. it can use a regular sd memory cards but a compact one is prefred because it can transfer the pics to the card faster. RIC

what do you have now? how much do you want to spend? how much control do you you want to have? personally, i am a pretty loyal canon user and i have three that i use for different reasons.
however, if all you are looking for is point and shot may i suggest looking into pentex. they have a small camera that is in the price range with other camers it size. however, there is one added feature that to my knowledge no other camera has and that is you can take it up to 5ft of water while still getting great pictures. you may not ever need to take it under water 5 ft, but would it not be great the next time you were out somewhere and it began to rain or snow (for me snow is not a problem i live in florida) not to have to worry about your camera. this wil be the next point and shot camera i buy.

Does everyone like digital or film better? I like both and think both have their place in the photography world. RIC

sounds awesome. let me know how it goes. by the way, what kind of memory card does that camera take? i have probably six gb of memory cards but they're sd cards. i have a feeling that your camera takes those compact whatever sd cards, right? the ones that can go up to 4 and 8gb? let me know RIC
